NemaStudio Version 1.7 released

NemaStudio Version 1.7 can now be downloaded form the download section of the Sailsoft website. For conveniency here is also a direct download link: http://www.sailsoft.nl/downloads/NemaStudio17Setup.msi.

Version 1.7 includes the following updates:

- Bug while receiving data solved
- Start All button added to toolbar (Starts all tabbed simulators simultaneously)
- Stop All button added to toolbar (Stops all tabbed simulators simultaneously)
- Close All button added to toolbar (Closes all tabbed simulators simultaneously)
- AIS Message 1 corrected (Special Manoeuvre Indicator)
- Non-responsive UI when too much data was sent over slow connection: solved
- Status bar now shows the number of sentences waiting in the output buffer and the number of bytes waiting to be sent
- Receive thread changed to avoid unneccessary invoking of the main thread

If you have alreay installed a pre-release of Version 1.7 it is required to un-install this version first. If you don't do this the installer will remind you to do so. No need to un-install when you install Version 1.7 replacing an older version.

As usual: your license keys will remain valid and intact.

NemaStudio Version 1.6 released

NemaStudio Version 1.6 can now be downloaded form the download section of the Sailsoft website. For conveniency here is also a direct link: http://www.sailsoft.nl/downloads/NemaStudio16Setup.msi.

Version 1.6 includes the following updates:

- GPS: UTC time is now fixed to actual UTC time and cannot be changed manually anymore
- GPS: Offset is now according to local zone offset (as in $GPZDA)
- Radar: UTC time is now fixed to actual UTC time and cannot be changed manually anymore
- Radar: Offset has been removed, became obsolete
- Radar: Option added to select a proprietary Sentence Identifier
- Weather: Option added to select a proprietary Sentence Identifier
- Heading: Option added to select a proprietary Sentence Identifier
- Sounder: Option added to select a proprietary Sentence Identifier
- Velocity: Option added to select a proprietary Sentence Identifier
- Custom instrument: When CapsLock was on, tags were shown in lower case. Corrected.

From NemaStudio Version 1.6, NMEA2000 is supported via the Actisense NGW-1 device. You can tell NemaStudio that there is a NGW-1 connected to a specific serial port and set the baud rate according to one of the settings that the NGW-1 supports. By default the NGW-1 is factory set to 4800. This is changed by NemaStudio to 115200 by default. Of course this can be changed by the user as desired.

NemaTalker Version 1.9.19

NemaTalker Version 1.9.19 can from now be downloaded from the Sailsoft website (http://www.sailsoft.nl/downloads.html). The main change in this update is an improved user and error handling of the Cockpit Velocity Control.

AIS error NemaStudio version 1.5 64-bit systems

In some 64-bit systems the AIS modules crashed because the installer did not install the correct version of a supporting dll.

We have released a corrected version of the installer on the Sailsoft web site for you to download and reinstall here.

Please note that the version and build number of NemaStudio have not changed, meaning you need to uninstall first before you can reinstall.

We apologise for the inconvenience.

Changes in Version 1.5 of NemaStudio:

Error in $GPRMC sentence corrected (Status field got wrong value when NMEA version 3.01 was selected)
General settings form has now 3 sub tabs because it got a bit crowded with all settings on one page

You can download and install this version from http://www.sailsoft.nl/downloads/NemaStudio15Setup.msi.

Of course your license data remains valid for this version as usual.

Free WaypointCreator Version 1.5 released

This version has one bug corrected and introduces two new features:

- Waypoint position was not correctly shown in the waypoint label on the map
- Support for GPX XML files added, now you can read and save in this file format
- Splitter between map and waypoint list box for easy resizing of both panels

NemaStudio Version 1.14 released

This release has two bugs fixed and one new feature:

- Bug when using decimals in velocity control solved
- Bug when using decimals in MagVar in general settings solved
- All instruments and targets can float and can be redocked now

NemaStudio Version 1.3

Less then 3 weeks from the first release of NemaStudio, Sailsoft now announces Version 1.3. This became necessary because of issues with some versions of Windows 7 causing NemaStudio to crash. The problems were caused by the obfuscator applied onto NemaStudio. We are very sorry for this, but we had to wait for a solution from the supplier of the obfuscator software. In this versions the Windows 7 issues are solved, and also some minor errors. Changes from 1.1: - Windows 7 issues solved - In most instruments at least one formatter is checked to get unfamiliar users start fast - NemaStudio is now a single instance application to avoid resource clashes - Negative velocity made AIS targets crash. Solved. - Two new buttons aqdded on the toolbar for resp. comm settings and general settings

NemaTalker Version 1.9.17

First beta of NemaStudio sent out to selected customers

Today I have sent out a very first beta (more like still an alpha...) to a number of selected customers. I have also created a website for reporting feedback like bugs and other issues you find and of course suggestion for improvement. Announcing NemaStudio

We are working hard to complete a new NMEA simulator, NemaStudio. This is not a new version of NemaTalker as we had planned before, but a complete new product. NemaStudio wil incorporate many suggestions we received from our customers, like flexible comport handling and multiple copies of an instrument. So in NemaStudio you can have a GPS allocated to COM10, a GPS allocated to COM17, a GPS and a sounder allocated to COM2 etc. All these will run simulaneously. In principle the number of copies of an instrument will be unlimited, providing your PC can handle it. NemaStudio will support AIS. NemaStudio has been given a professional and flexible user interface (GUI), with docking and floating panels and context menus. I am sure you will like it. Since we have decided to not release a new version of NemaTalker (originally planned for 3Q2008) but for a complete new product, dedicated to our professional customers we need a bit more time than that. Yet we are sure to be able to deliver NemaStudio in Q12009. For questions, previews, beta test participation etc. please contact me directly by email: ger.rietman_at_sailsoft.nl. NemaTalker Version 1.9.14

Concerns: error correction release, NemaTalker Version 1.9.14. Heading instrument: Inappropriate magnetic corrections (variation and deviation) removed from the HDM sentence. A customer pointed me to this issue. I could not find any prove in the NMEA documentation whether the HDM sentence should allow for correction of variation and deviation or not, but he stated that the HDM sentence is output by a magnetic sensor and that this is always pointing towards the magnetic north. This statement makes a lot of sense of course, but if you do not agree with this and can prove otherwise, I would appreciate feedback on tis matter very much. You may want to download and install this version from the Sailsoft website any time. Your license codes will of course remain valid as usual, no need to re-enter them again.

NemaTalker Version 1.9.13

This release of NemaTalker fixes a small issue in the Radar instrument. NemaTalker now checks at the time you input the target name if it contains any NMEA reserved characters and gives an error message when it does. Reserved characters are thus no longer accepted in the target name. You may want to download and install this version from the Sailsoft website any time. Your license codes will of course remain valid as usual, no need to re-enter them again.

NemaTalker Version 1.9.12

We just released Version 1.9.12 of NemaTalker. This concerns an error correction update. "- When loading a very large text (>16K characters) in the Custom instrument window an overflow occurred. Corrected." Note: The Custom instrument was originally designed with the expectation that it would be used to output only a few custom sentences. However, customers are starting to use it now for a.o. to output hundreds of pre-logged AIS sentences because the lack of better functionality in NemaTalker to do this kind of stuff. We promise to introduce AIS functiononality in the next major version of NemaTalker, expected to release 3rd or 4th quarter 2008. Until then the Custom instrument window is limited to contain max 32K characters. If you absolutely need more space we could double this, but not without suffering a considerable performance degradation when reloading the Custom window.

1:18 4-11-2007 Version 1.9.10 - Corrected: date roll over bug - Corrected: $HEHDM deviation calculation

12:15 1-6-2007 Version 1.9.9 - If the UTC time runs though 00:00:00 the date did not increment to the next day. Corrected - Running as NMEA version 2.20 there was no apparent way to toggle GPRMC field 2 (A/V). This is solved now by adding a status combo when running NMEA version < 3.0 to make it possible to select the status "A" or "V". This affects the RMC, RMB, XTE and GLL sentences.

16:25 25-5-2006 Version 1.9.8 - The ZDA contained one field too much after the change in the previous version. Corrected. - The recently added HDM sentence did not show the magnetic heading correctly. Corrected.

13:24 20-5-2006 Version 1.9.7 - Magnetic variation was not updated in GPS device after 'in-between' changing this value in the generic parameters.
