Generic parameters

Will open a window where you can set and change some generic parameters. Generic parameters will be used in all instruments where applicable.

You should change these parameters with no instruments loaded. Clicking "OK" will save the parameters. They will remain over sessions, so next time you start NemaTalker you don't have to set them again.

Note that NMEA version 2.3/3.01 sentences are not supported by some manufacturers. So in doubt use NMEA version 2.20.

Communication

Here you set and change the communication parameters that you want NemaTalker to work with.

For standaard NMEA 0183 you will want to set the Output to "Comm Port", Baud Rate to 4800, Data Bits to 8, Stop Bits to 1, Echo to Off, Flow Control and Parity To "None". These are the default settings. Normally you leave them untouched.

You will have to set the serial port (Com1 to Com4) you want NemaTalker to communicate through with the outer world.

For special purposes the program can send the NMEA output sentences to a UDP client. You will need a suitable UDP client to receive the data. You also need the Host Name (or IP address) and the Port Number of the remote client.

It is not possible to send output to a serial port and a UDP port simultaneously.

Clicking "OK" will save the parameters. They will remain over sessions, so next time you start NemaTalker you don't have to set them again.
