The custom sentence
formatter can be used for any sentence that is not provided for by the
simulated instruments, or for proprietary sentences.

Usage
Actually any line of text
that is typed in the text box will be sent out in the interval selected,
with a checksum added optionally.
You can insert the real-time values of the "cockpit" at the
cursor position by clicking any of the buttons marked Altitude, Course and
Velocity. A mnemonic (<ALT>,<CRS>,<VTY>) is inserted,
and is substituted for the actual value at runtime. Of course you can also
type the mnemonics if you like, instead of using the buttons.
At "Exit and Save"
your private sentences will be saved in a file named "Custom.txt"
in the application path, so they can be retrieved from that file at
restart. You can edit that file with any plain text editor if you like.
Take care not to insert too
many sentences here without adjusting the Transmit interval. Standard
output speed of a NMEA connection is 4800 bits per second. In practice
that results in about 300 characters or less output per second with
NemaTalker.
Operation
After clicking the
"Start" button your proprietary NMEA sentences will be sent to the selected serial
port of the PC, until the "Hold" or "Exit and
Save" buttons are pressed.
When the "Open
Log file" option from the main "File" menu was
selected, the sentences will also be written to the user selected logging file.
To view the sentences being
sent select the "View trace window"
option from the main menu.
Clicking the
"Hold" button will suspend operation, until "Cont." is
clicked. "Exit and Save" will exit and save all
current values in the windows registry and in the additional custom.txt
file.
